No Coast Craft-O-Rama!

Hello! I know it's been such a long time, but I'm just popping in to let you know that No Coast Craft-O-Rama is this Friday and Saturday, and I will there with dollies and kitties and bunnies and babies. I have a table near the Salty Tart, so come say hello! {And I finally have a few things in my Etsy shop!}

time away

Hello Friends!
I'm sorry this space has been so quiet again. Summer has been very busy, and sadly this little spot has been neglected. I'm going to take a break from it for awhile; I've had some lovely opportunities come up over on The Vanilla Bean Blog, and I'm putting all my energy there for a time. I'm not quite ready to say good-bye to this place, but need to take some time off from it for the time being.

Feel free to stop by and say hi, and if you are missing me terribly you can check out my feature in Foodiecrush Magazine [still pinching myself].

the day Rainer Maria Rilke ruined me. again.

This weekend we went to a wedding. It was lovely affair, and our hearts were filled with joy. During the wedding there was a reading, a reading that broke us, tore our hearts open and then mended them again, line by line, word by word. We wept: joy, sorrow, and hope.

God speaks to each of us as he makes us,
Then walks with us silently out of the night.

These are the words we dimly hear:

You, sent out beyond your recall,
go to the limits of your longing.
Embody me.

Flare up like a flame
And make big shadows I can move in.

Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror.
Just keep going. No feeling is final.
Don't let yourself lose me.

Nearby is the country they call life.
You will know it by its seriousness.

Give me your hand.
-Rainer Maria Rilke, poem from The Book of Hours

I'm happy to announce that you can now find Threaded Basil dolls at Dainty Daisies in Appleton,Wisconsin. Dainty Daisies is a lovely shop located on College Avenue that sells all handmade goods. I'm so happy to be selling these girls there! [And you can check here for all the other fun things that are new to the shop.]
And, I apologize for my empty Etsy shop. I am hoping to have some more dolls/toys in it soon.

NYC in Instagrams

[A] and I made our first trip to NYC last week, to celebrate ten years of marriage. [Ten years! How does life go by so fast?] We had a lovely, lovely time: eating good food, seeing all the sites, and just being part of the always moving city. My favorite moments were taking the ferry to the Statue of Liberty, spending an entire day on the second floor of the Met looking at paintings, and spending a perfect day in Washington Square, walking, talking, and watching.

So, love, here's to many many more years together. I'm so glad you're mine, to have and to hold [solid gold].
